HDTV Buying Guide
Why would I want to write about this on this website? Well there is a slight chance that you may be looking to replace your old HDTV so here is quick articles on purchasing the best for your home.
Many people don’t write about this but the most obvious factor to first consider is the budget that you have for your new TV set. If the sky is the limit for you, the buying process is going to be really easy. All you have to do is to check out websites such as CNET and PCMAG and look for their highest rated HDTV, go to the store, test it out and buy it. If you have a specific budget for your new HDTV, you may want to get one that stretches your dollar and give great value for every dollar spent. There are generally two types of HD televisions in the market, namely 720p HD and 1080p HD. Technically 1080p HDTV sets produce better picture quality but in reality, the average person on the street just cannot tell the difference between the two. If you are on a tighter budget, a 720p model will give good value.
Other factors to consider would be its extra features. For me, I am just in love with the ultra slim models of the new LED-based LCD HDTV models. They are very energy efficient and not to mention have looks that could kill! Another very interesting to feature is their online content interface. Many of the new models come with wi-fi ready connections and also build-in OS to view online content. Each brand have their own versions so look around for the ones that you love best. So far, Panasonic and Samsung are leading the pack with lots of online-streaming services such as Amazon Video on Demand and Netflix. With that sorted out, you may also have need to choose between plasma, LED and LCD types. In short, I think that the LED types are the best as they are slim, super energy efficient and have high video playback quality. As with every new gadget, they are relatively more expensive than other models. Plasmas have great video playback and LED models are the cheapest among the three. Online stores and review websites are the best places to shop around for a new HDTV. There you can get reviews from both experts and the everyday consumer. These two sources of information are the best resources to help you buy anything! |
